2024 CFGV Common Scholarship Application

Description

CFGV's Common Scholarship Application form is the only form you need to complete in order to apply for any of the five scholarships that are offered by the Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley. Please read the descriptions of the available scholarships carefully before applying to ensure you qualify.

Elena Pedersen Scholarship - $5,000; This scholarship is for tuition and is open to seniors graduating from a high school in the Gunnison Watershed School District who are immigrants, children of immigrants, or the first in their family to pursue postsecondary education (meaning parents/guardians did not attend a two-year trade school or four-year university); qualified students must demonstrate financial need, and must have a GPA of 2.5; reviewers will consider involvement in community service or extracurricular activities; one scholarship is awarded for the first year of study only

GHS Teacher of Tomorrow Scholarship - up to $2,000; This scholarship is for tuition and is open to seniors graduating from Gunnison High School who plan to pursue a degree in teaching and intend to pursue a career in primary or secondary education; qualified students must have a GPA of 3.2, and reviewers will consider involvement in community service or extracurricular activities, and exhibited leadership through these activities; ONE scholarship is awarded for the first year of study but may be renewable for the second consecutive year of study ($1,000 per year)

Gunnison Kiwanis Club Scholarship - $2,500; This scholarship is for tuition and is open to seniors graduating from a high school in the Gunnison Watershed School District who demonstrate financial need; reviewers will consider students' activities in the community; preference will be given to students attending Western Colorado University; one scholarship is awarded for the first year of study only

Gunnison Memorial Scholarship - Up to $6,000; This scholarship is for tuition and is open to seniors graduating from a high school in the Gunnison Watershed School District who demonstrate financial need and scholastic excellence; reviewers will consider demonstrated desire to extend a helping hand to someone else in need during their lifetime; UP TO THREE scholarships are awarded for the first year of study only

Maxwell MacAllister Scholarship - up to $4,000; This scholarship is for tuition and is open to seniors attending Gunnison High School School whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s) have not completed a bachelor’s degree or trade/vocational school diploma/degree; qualified students must have a GPA of 2.5, and reviewers will consider involvement in community service or extracurricular activities; ONE scholarship is awarded for up to four consecutive years of study ($1,000 per year)
